Story of Sadie's Birth

Tuesday evening I was starting to think it wouldn't be that much longer. We were getting so anxious to have the baby. I just didn't think that it would be that night. I woke up around 11 having a few contractions. I didn't think too much about it because I had been having them for the past couple days. Well at 2:15 my water broke. Thankfully Rusty was at home when it happened. He was leaving at 4:30 to go to work. He was so excited. I think he was up and dressed in like a minute. I got to the hospital at 2:38a.m.

They put me in room to check me. I was 4 cm dialated. When she checked me she couldn't feel the head. She thought she was feeling fingers or toes. She said my doctor would come look but I probably was going to have a emercency c-section. It scared me to death. They did an ultrasound and confirmed the baby was breeched. Since my contractions were very close together they were trying to hurry. They started to prep me for surgey. I had no idea what to expect. They gave me a spinal tap so I got to be awake for the entire process of the delievry. Rusty got to be in the room after the spinal tap. It all happened so fast. Once they opened me up they realized a foot was already in my birth canal. They had to cut me more than normal to get the baby out. We didn't know what the baby was all nine months and it was killing us to find out what we were having. The special moment came at 0420 AM when the doctor told Rusty he could look. Rusty looked for what seemed to be several minutes and then looked at me and with a huge smile said we have our Sadie Claire. Of course I start crying. I was so excited and couldn't wait to hold her.
We were looking at the ultrasound and they were telling me I was having a c-section.
Yes that is fear written all over my face. Sadie Claire's first picture. Daddy is cutting the umplicial cord!! I had to wait several minutes
to see her but it felt like forever. First time me seeing her. She was perfect!!! . Sadie and Dr. Sroggs. My team that helped deliever me. They were all awesome,
I couldn't have asked for anyone better.
