My Bedroom Makeover!!

Rusty's grandmother moved to Jackson MS last January about the time we sold our house. So we were able to move into her house until we figured out what we wanted to do. Well then I got pregnant, plus we both really enjoyed living here. It has worked out perfect because the house is right behind his parents which is so nice when Rusty works nights. It has been awesome having my mother-in-law right there especially when I was pregnant. I am very lucky! :) We get along great (In case you were wondering)

Well his grandmother had a border up in the bedroom that just didn't go with my style so his parents let me take it down and paint.

Have you ever tried to take down a border?

NOT FUN!!!

It took me several days to get it down and I learned a lot.  A steamer helps and a little dish soap & vinegar mixture helped get the glue off.

I also decided to finally refinish my 2 night stands. I have stained several pieces of furniture but after researching the Internet I decided to spay paint them.

This is after the primer.

Finished Product.
Don't you just love the black & white paper. (that is wrapping paper I just glued down)

Then I wanted to add a punch of color which I finally decided to be yellow.  I painted the canvas then added a vinyl sticker.  So easy!!!

I saw a tutorial on how to make a pillow with a felt flower on it. It gave me the idea to make a felt flower and put it on a canvas.

So then I needed to add some yellow to my bedding. I bought the black pillow at Walmart for $6.00 then made the yellow felt flowers. Total project cost about $7.00. And I still have enough felt to make a yellow pillow with a flower on it like the canvas.

The walls are called passive. A light blue grey. I wish I would have gone a little darker but since it isn't my house I didn't want it to be too dark. It is amazing how much bigger the room looks with the fresh paint.
